Description

The WS705 single-bottle composite/discrete water samplers combine all the features needed to meet a wide variety of water sampling requirements, including those for stormwater, industrial discharge, water and wastewater treatment, waste collection systems, rivers, and streams. The WS705 composite/discrete water sampler's state of the art water sampler controller gives you complete control over your water sampling process.  With the composite/discrete water sampler's sample size control, you can take individual time-weighted composite samples or full-bottle discrete grab samples in a 2.5 gallon sample bottle. The composite/discrete water sampler's sample interval control allows you set the time between individual composite samples or enable the external trigger mode for flow proportional sampling.  A start delay timer allows you to start multiple composite/discrete water samplers in the field at the same time, or to delay drawing a water sample after a triggering event so that your water sample better represents the water source.
Samplers Inputs and Outputs
In addition to taking samples automatically, inputs are provided for triggering the composite/discrete water samplers by PLC devices and other controllers.  These inputs include an external trigger input that accepts a switch closure or pulse input, ideal for flow proportional sampling.  Two separate water sensor inputs can be used for monitoring water level in a rain gauge and at the source using the optional stormwater kit.  A pulse output is also provided for using a data logger, such as the GL500 2-1, or PLC to record when the samples were taken.  An automatic 15 second backflush cycle clears any debris from the composite/discrete water sampler's strainer and empties the water from the hose so the next composite sample is not contaminated.
Improved Water Sampler Enclosure
The composite/discrete water sampler’s rugged rainproof enclosure can be padlocked and/or chained to prevent tampering.  The composite/discrete water samplers are enclosed in a case that can be easily hidden or camouflaged to prevent vandalism. The samplers are lightweight enough that even with a full sample bottle the composite/discrete water samplers can be suspended, from the over-molded handle on top, in a manhole for wastewater or stormwater sampling. The compact enclosure features heavy duty polyurethane wheels and a retractable extension handle for easy transportation.  The pickup hose comes with quick disconnect fittings which allows it to be disconnected from the composite/discrete water sampler and conveniently stored inside the enclosure when being moved or when not in use.
Sampler Power
The composite/discrete water sampler's 5 AH rechargeable battery will power the sampler for several months or several sampling events. The sealed gel-cell battery and BC100 smart charge controller are contained in a separate battery box inside the composite/discrete water sampler's main enclosure to isolate and protect electrical connections. The included smart charger prevents overcharging and greatly extends battery life over other charging methods. Optional AC and solar panel charging options are available, see the Composite/Discrete Water Samplers Options & Prices section for more information.
Overflow Protection
The composite/discrete water sampler's sample bottle is equipped with a float switch that automatically turns off the peristaltic sampling pump if the water bottle becomes full.
Water Sample Size
The user can adjust the composite/discrete water sampler's sample size to one of 15 composite sample sizes from 50 ml to 2 liters plus a full bottle discrete setting and the composite/discrete water sampler's sample interval to one of 15 time settings from 5 minutes to 12 hours plus an external trigger mode setting for flow proportional sampling.
Flow Proportional Sampling
An external pulse-type flow meter can control the water sample interval for true flow proportional sampling.  Global Water's Open Channel Flow Monitor has a flow-proportional output signal for triggering the WS705 composite/discrete water samplers.  If you already have a flow meter but it has a 4-20mA output, please look at the related products section of the Composite/Discrete Water Samplers Options & Prices section.
Remote Water Sampling Notification
Attach the AD200 Autodialer or CVD-2000P Cellular Autodialer to your composite/discrete water sampler to add remote sample notification.  This accessory will save you travel time by ensuring that you always know when your composite/discrete water samplers have taken a sample at your monitoring sites.
What's Included
The WS705 composite/discrete water samplers come with a 2-gallon polyethylene sample bottle for collecting composite samples, a peristaltic sampling pump, a circuit board controller, and a rechargeable gel cell battery.  Also provided is a sample pickup hose and a battery charger.  Everything you need is provided for a successful wastewater management or environmental monitoring program.
