A specimen is secured to a scotch yoke drive system; draped over a hex bar and a weight affixed to the bottom of the specimen. Abrasion resistance is measured by subjecting to unidirectional reciprocal rubbing over the hexagon bar. Taber's Model 5820 Webbing Abrasion Tester is used to determine abrasion resistance of automotive seat belts and other webbing materials.
