The AND1000 Fluorimeter enables field testing to be done in two steps in less than two minutes, eliminating or significantly reducing test expenditures, complexity and wait times experienced in traditional heavy metals water testing. It is a breakthrough in streamlining the water analysis and reporting processes and its powered by DNA.
The AND1000 Fluorimeter is a platform centric hand-held device for heavy metals testing for drinking water and industrial water supplies. It uses an extremely sensitive measurement technique to determine the toxicity levels of heavy metal contamination.

SENSORS
Heavy Metal Sensors | |
Sensors and Kits | |
Each disposable color-coded sensor is designed for a specific heavy metal test target. Kits provide sampling tubes, syringes and cuvettes. Sensors, supplies and fluorimeter are also sold separately. ANDalyze’s proprietary Catalytic DNA sensors use a DNAzyme reaction mechanism that fluoresces in the presence of a target contaminant substance such as lead. The fluorescence of the reaction is measured to determine the toxicity of the target heavy metal and is reported in parts per billion (ppb). To help differentiate the materials specific to each analyte, the packaging has been individually labeled and the sensor housings and buffer caps have been color coded. | |
Available Sensors | |
Heavy Metal Sensor | ANDalyze Measurement Range |
Lead - Pb | 2-100 ppb |
Copper (High) - Cu High | 600-3000 ppb |
Copper (Low) Cu Low | 40-200 ppb |
Uranium - U | 2-60 ppb |
Mercury – Hg (This is a qualitative sensor) | Pass/Fail at 2 ppb(accurate up to 50 ppb) |
Zinc- Zn | 1-15 ppm |
Cadmium- Cd | .1- 1 ppm |
Sensor Kits Include (Equipment for (25) Tests and/or Calibrations)
- (25) Sensor Bags with Sensor & Cuvette

Accessories
ANDalyze metal test kits are designed for use out of the box for testing of Drinking Water; however they can be used for Environmental Water analysis with some minor protocol modifications. Tests have been performed in the following water matricies:
- Surface Water (rivers, lakes, ponds)
- Ground Water (wells, aquifers)
- Hard or Very Hard Water (multiple sources)
- Treated Wastewater (municipal & metal finisher) – Finished or treated and diluted tenfold
- Seawater (from the surface, not the sediment/water column interface)
Each matrix type may require one or more of the following pre-treatment kits. Please see our Enviromental Water Testing Solution Note for guidelines and requirements for each matrix. Kits may be purchased from ANDalyze or individual components purchased through a scientific supply company.
