These units are self-contained temperature recorders. The SK4 & SL4 recorders are portable, easy-to-use and provide a permanent record of temperatures. Both operate on a single “AA” battery for up to 3 years.
The SK4 was designed for use in applications where recording long term temperature trends is most important. The SL4 was built to give you the best of both worlds: a permanent record of long term temperature recording combined with an easy-to-read, digital display.

Critical Storage in Research Labs
Laboratories require quality critical storage instrumentation to ensure their research is accurate and precise. In these highly regulated environments, meticulous detail is needed to meet industry standards and to adhere to Good Laboratory Practices. Laboratory technicians need quality data they can trust in order to secure factual information and report accurate findings. Technicians at a research laboratory were looking for a solution that gave them a physical graph which could be given to an oversight organization as documentation of a stable environment. They also needed quick information at-a-glance that allows employees to know everything is operating properly. With these driving needs this facility turned to a combination of Dickson instruments as a solution. This research laboratory chose two Dickson monitoring instruments. The SL4350, a 4” Temperature Chart Recorder, provides technicians with a recording instrument for their undercounter refrigerators and walk-in cool rooms. Its compact design enables it to fit directly into the refrigerator without taking up hard to find counter space. The paper chart the temperature is scribed onto can be used as physical documentation of environmental conditions and helps the facility adhere to industry standards. The conveniently located display provides the staff with a quick glance to ensure working order.
For their larger refrigerators, this laboratory chose Dickson’s SM320 temperature data logger. The external probe can be placed directly into the larger refrigerators, while the unit itself is mounted on the outside, giving a visual readout of the temperature. The loud audio alarm gives warning when conditions change allowing for action to be taken. There is also a possibility to download the stored sample points via a flash memory card. This feature is extremely convenient, as the unit can stay in the environment while the data is transferred via the memory card. |
When research laboratories are looking to make decisions regarding the monitoring of their facility, they turn to Dickson. With multiple features, conveniently located displays and flexible recording options, Dickson products have everything you need to monitor research laboratories. |
