This series of durometers is designed to measure ASTM hardness of different types. Legendary precision, ease of use and robust, reliable build.

The Model 306L Type A

is designed to measure ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) D2240 Type A hardness. This includes materials such as: rubber, elastomers, and other rubber-like materials including neoprene, silicone, santoprene, vinyl, and butyl. Soft plastics, felt, leather, and similar materials generally fall into this same range. PTC® s Model 306L meets or exceeds current ASTM D2240 Specifications.
The instrument has a low glare aluminum dial with bold, easy to read numbers. The durometer comes standard with a Max Hold hand which retains the peak reading. A top knob with 8-32 threads permits both easy handheld use and attachment to test stands or the accessory Model 441 1kg Constant Load Deadweight. The Model 441 will allow even more consistent measurements when taking readings. Each instrument is individually calibrated. A test block and sturdy carrying case are included with the durometer.

The Model 306L.5 Half Point Type A

has a total accuracy of + 1/2 point for the most stringent material testing. The significant advances in polymers which are materials with characteristic mechanical and physical properties controlled by the structure and the method synthesis make this certified durometer the ultimate working lab durometer.
A written calibration certificate NIST/A2LA to ISO 17025 is included with this durometer.
A top knob with 8-32 threads permits both easy handheld use and attachment to test stands or the accessory Model 441 1kg Constant load deadweight. The Model 441 will allow even more consistent measurements when taking readings.

The Model 306BL Shore B Scale

The Model 306BL Type B Durometer is designed to measure ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) D2240 Type B hardness. B Scale Test the Hardness of Moderately Hard Rubber, Elastomers, Paper Products and Fibrous Materials.
These durometers can be used either with a test stand, hand-held or with the constant load weight.

The Model 307CL Shore C Scale

The Model 307CL Type C Durometer is designed to measure ASTM D2240 Type C hardness of Medium Hard Rubber, Elastomers and Thermoplastics.

The Model 307L Shore D Scale

The Model 307L Type D Durometer is designed to measure ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) D2240 Type D hardness. These durometers can be used either with a test stand or hand-held. Shore D Scale Durometers Test the Hardness of Pipeline Coating, Hard Rubber, Acrylic, Delrin, Kevlar, PVC, Nylon, Lexan, and Epoxies.
