“Taber Test” delivers reliable data in minutes

Used to evaluate a material’s resistance to wear, a flat specimen is mounted to a turntable platform that rotates on a vertical axis. As the turntable rotates, contact of the specimen against the sliding rotation of two abrading wheels cause wear while a vacuum system removes loose wear debris during the test. The resulting abrasion marks form a pattern of crossed arcs in a circular band that cover an area approximately 30 cm2

others.

GENUINE TABER ABRADING WHEELS AND TEST ACCESSORIES OFFER ENORMOUS VERSATILITY 

Different grades of standardized abrasive wheels have been engineered to meet varying requirements of abrasive action enabling the instrument to be used to test a diverse range of materials. Available as Calibrase® or Calibrade®, 
these proprietary abradants are designed so the binder material breaks down during use, exposing new abrasive particles. Optional accessories such as the Grit Feeder or Scuffing Head Attachments can be used to expand  
the type of test being conducted.
