Professional retroreflection measurement for traffic signs and reflective materials

The Zehntner ZRS 6060 is a portable retroreflectometer designed to determine the nighttime visibility of traffic signs and other retroreflective materials. It measures the coefficient of retroreflection RA and R′ and combines professional optical measurement with a compact, ergonomic design for field and laboratory inspections.

Measure three observation angles simultaneously

The ZRS 6060 can measure three different observation angles at the same time. Different measurement geometries are available to support the evaluation of traffic signs, high-visibility clothing, reflective sheeting, conspicuity tapes and other retroreflective materials.

Reliable measurements under changing field conditions

Intelligent electronics work together with Swiss-made optics to monitor environmental conditions and compensate for stray light. This helps provide reliable retroreflection measurements under the varying lighting conditions encountered during outdoor inspections.

Adjustable colour touchscreen

A 3.5-inch colour TFT touchscreen with LED backlighting and HVGA resolution provides a clear interface for instrument operation and reviewing results. The display angle can be adjusted to improve visibility under different lighting conditions, while the lightweight ergonomic construction facilitates repeated field measurements.

Optional GPS, camera and barcode identification

The ZRS 6060 is available in different configurations with options including WAAS GPS, an integrated 5-megapixel camera and barcode identification. These functions can add precise location information, photographic documentation and sign identification to measurement records, simplifying the documentation of large inspection programs.

Large internal memory and digital data management

The instrument provides 1 GB of internal flash memory, sufficient for approximately 1,000,000 measurements without pictures. USB connectivity supports data transfer, while MappingTools software provides tools for mapping, analysing and reporting measurement data.

Wide range of retroreflective materials

The ZRS 6060 is designed for quality assessment of traffic signs, safety garments, conspicuity tapes and reflective sheets. Its configurable measurement geometry allows the instrument to address different retroreflection requirements without limiting it to a single type of reflective material.

Traceable calibration for professional inspections

Factory calibration is traceable to the independent Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS),providing measurement traceability for professional quality-control and inspection applications.
