Taking split spoon samples by hand may be done with the Split Core Sampler. This patent pending all stainless steel sampler, designed by AMS; will allow you to collect virtually undisturbed soil samples directly or in a liner. Use it without the liner to collect cores for immediate field examination and testing. Use the liner for collection of cores that will be sent to a lab for testing. The sampler is available with core and auger tips in three sizes; 1 3/8" (3.5cm),2" (5.1cm),and 2 1/2" (6.4cm). These sizes reflect the O.D. of liner used to contain the sample. The sampler has an outside diameter 1/2" (1.3cm) larger than the sample. Tips with valves are available. An optional coupler is used to join two Split Body Sets to extend the Sampler's length.
