Moisture Teller

This Dietert Moisture Teller is a sturdy, versatile unit equipped with an adjustable thermostatic regulator and armored thermometer. A fan drives air down past large-capacity heating elements and the heated air is dispersed through the sample and out through the 500-mesh bottom of the drying pan. The high velocity of the air assures extremely rapid drying action and 50 grams of molding sand can be dried in approximately 3 or 4 minutes. An electric timer can be pre-set with standard drying time. Temperature range is 150 to 300° F (65 to 149° C).

The unit is easily carried into the plant for rapid moisture determinations at the point of control, or in the laboratory. The moisture test is by the direct gravimetric method and is therefore more accurate and dependable than relative moisture tests requiring corrections or calibrations.

The unit can also be used as a quick-drying oven for slurries, pastes or fine powders. Samples can be weighed into smaller dishes and placed in the Moisture Teller pan.

Included are two brass sample pans, 5 1/4 in. (133 mm) in diameter, either 1 or 2 inches (25.4 or 50.8 mm) deep, a brush, and pan tongs.

Standard thermometer supplied is in Fahrenheit. Celsius thermometer will be supplied if requested.
