Models 306L & 408
Both Model 306L and 408 Durometers are built to meet or exceed current ASTM D2240 specifications for testing Type A materials. The Models 306L and 408 measure the indentation hardness of rubber, elastomers, and other rubber-like substances such as neoprene, silicone, vinyl, nitrile, and butyl. They can also be used for soft plastics, felt, leather, and similar materials.

These durometers can be used either with a test stand or as hand-held testers. Both models can be used with Model 471 Test Stands. The Models 306L and 408 Durometers come complete with carrying case and test block. The durometers come standard with an ancillary hand for indicating peak readings.

The 408 is a Type A durometer with newly designed features. This instrument has ergonomically designed aluminum die-cast case with a removable mounting. It has a smaller base (1" x 1") than the 306L for confined testing areas. Each Model 408 comes with its own calibration test report

Models 307L & 409
The Models 307L and 409 Durometers are designed to measure the indentation hardness of materials such as hard rubber, plastics, epoxies and other similar Type D materials. These instruments are built to meet or exceed current ASTM D2240 specifications.

The Model 409 has an aluminum die-cast case that tapers to a 1" x 1" base. It has a removable mounting knob for cofortable hand-held use. The Model 409 comes complete with an individual calibration test report, test block, and carrying case.

Model 302SL
Foam & Sponge Rubber Durometer measures the hardness of soft aterials such as foam rubber, sponge rubber, disposable diapers, jells, doughs, etc. This instrument can perform comparative hardness tests on foam or sponge rubber without the cost of using indentation load deflection (ILD) test machine. Model 302SL offers a cost-effective means of checking these materials with speed, portability, and accuracy.

The Model 302SL is based on the force of a variable load over an area of one square centimeter. The instrument is simple to use and can be used in conjunction with the Model 470 Test Stand for faster and more precise testing. The sample should have an area of at least 1¼" square and be at least ¾" thick. Thinner materials must be stacked to obtain this thickness.

Model 411 TYPE 00 Durometer
Model 411 has a mainspring with a load force of 113 GF and a 3/32" hemispherical indenter. This instrument is used to test the hardness of materials such as sponge rubber, soft rubber and similar materials.
